Record highs!

We have been having beautiful weather here for the past couple weeks.  Today they are actually calling for a record high of 82 degrees!  We have been playing outside as much as we can.  Lily even knows the way to the park and if we don't turn down the one path she tells me "no mommy, playground that way".

Lily is really starting to talk to much and becoming her own little person.  In fact the other night after dinner Sean got a look at what the future will hold with a preteen or teenager.  Sean told her that she needed to finish this one piece of a sandwich before she could have some grapes, she did it so I went to the fridge to get the grapes.  While I was getting them out Sean tried to get her to take another bite.  She looked him dead in the eye and said "No Daddy. I already ate for grapes. I ate that. Grapes go right there".  All of this was accompanied with large arms movements and a lot of attitude.  I was so happy that I was standing behind her because I couldn't keep a straight face.

3 month twins??

Here is Evelyn's 3 month growth photo.  She is such a happy baby.  I can't believe how fast she is growing.

Also, we have noticed how much the girls look alike, especially when you look at Lily's baby photos and cover all her hair.  I am going to have to label photos well because I have a feeling we will be confusing these two photos in the future.

Sleeping in?

For the past week both girls have gotten up at exactly the same time each day.  At 6:22am Evelyn starts moving around a little bit in her bassinet and when I look at her she is wide eyed and smiling at me.  About 2 minutes later I hear Lily start talking in her room.  I am not sure what it is that is waking them both up.  Evelyn isn't making enough sound for Lily to hear her on the other side of the house.  Lily isn't waking up first that Evie would hear her through the monitor.  Since it is happening everyday, including weekends, I don't think it is a bus or some other loud sound outside.  Somehow my girls have synced their internal clocks.

Well this morning I woke up at looked at my phone (we don't have a clock in our room) and saw that it was 7:18am.  They slept in!  I was wide awake, but wanted to enjoy the fact that I got an extra hour of sleep and see how much longer they would sleep, so I just laid in bed quietly.  Pretty soon Evie started stirring.  I looked at the clock. 7:22am.  Pretty soon after I hear Lily start making sounds.  I got out of bed and started our morning routine but still remembering and enjoying that I got an extra hour of sleep.

Then I remembered that last night was Day Light Savings and all clocks set ahead an hour.  They really got up at essentially 6:22am.  I suddenly didn't feel as rested as I did before.  And I am still curious as to what is waking both girls up at that time.

Last night

I know I say it all that time, but I am going to try to update the blog more.  It is easy for me to just do it when something big happens, but there are so many cute things that the girls do during the day that I want to get on here for everyone.  I also realized how much I use this as a way to keep track of the girls.  I didn't keep a baby book with Lily, but I did write everything on her blog so I have been able to go back and see when she was first rolling over and such.

On Monday Evie rolled from her belly to her back, then yesterday she did it from her back to her belly.  She has gone from belly to back many times, but back to belly just the once.  I have a feel that by the end of next week she will be rolling all over the family room.  She has definitely been interested in all of Lily's toys and I am sure she will be trying to get to them anyway she can soon.

Last night was rough.

Evie decided that she wanted to be awake about every hour and a half.  She still only ate about every 4 hours, the rest of the time she just wanted to smile and "talk".  She also was not content staying in bed and just talking to her mobile. She wanted to talk to me. And she felt that I needed to hold her to do that.  While she is adorable and I love holding her and seeing those smiles, 3am is not the time for it.

Lily also was up once last night which is very rare for her. Around 4am I awoke to her screaming in her room.  When I went in she wanted to bed and just kept whimpering "shoes".  I am not sure what kind of nightmare she had about shoes, but I do believe we have a very girly girl on our hands.  I think her teenage years are going to make us go broke because she will want to buy so many shoes.

I figured I would end this post with a picture of my smiley baby.  This isn't one of her huge smiles, but it is one of the only ones I have actually gotten a picture of.  (I think she is going to be a red head!)

Rolling over!

Evie has two wonderful things to celebrate today.  Last night she slept for a 7 hour stretch! (ok, I might be a little more excited about that one than she is).  She probably would have slept even longer, but I heard her move a little bit and decided to feed her since she usually eats every 3-4 hours at night.  She did go back to sleep after eating for another hour.  The other thing to celebrate is that she rolled over from her belly to her back for the first time this morning.  When she did it Lily looked at her and said, "No Evie, stay".  I don't think Lily is looking forward to having her sister be able to follow her around and take her toys.  I will admit that I was kinda thinking the same thing as Lily, but more that I want her to stay a little baby longer.  She is growing up so fast.  Lily first rolled over right after she was 4 months old and Evie will be 3 months in just a couple days.  I have a feeling she will be very mobile at a much younger age than Lily was just because she will be wanting to follow her big sister around.

Lily is such an amazing big sister and Evie absolutely loves her.  Today Evie was sitting in her bouncy seat and Lily was sitting in front of her making sure she had her pacifier, blanket, and hat.  Lily was making silly faces so that Evie would smile at her.  Evie hasn't giggled yet, but I have a feeling the first time she does it will be because of Lily.

Lily has a cold right now so she isn't completely being her normal high energy self.  While I hate that she isn't feeling well, I have loved having a toddler that wants to snuggle all the time.
